WirePop -- www.wirepop.com -- announced today the new webcomic "Friction Burn," by Yann, will be joining the webcomic line-up on WirePop.com, the growing Manga and Manga-styled webcomic subscription magazine.
“Yann is bringing a fresh and edgy style with his comic Friction Burn with his professional coloring and design.†said George Panella, WirePops’ Publisher “Friction Burn brings a more action packed story to the WirePop line-up and we’re really excited to be bringing Yann on-board. Be sure to check out Friction Burn when WirePop launches later this summer.â€
Yann, talked about "Friction Burn" saying, "I've wanted to do Friction Burn for a while now, I love the characters and the planned action scenes are going to be intense. Along with the fast paced armour fighting there are also many comedic elements thrown into the mix. And because it all takes place in a city I have the chance to really work on and practice drawing backgrounds. I'm working very hard to make Friction Burn a fun read that will keep readers coming back for more, and I'm doing my best to make each page even better than the last."
"So if you want to have a laugh and see people in mech armour pounding on each other, destroying stuff in the process, then Friction Burn may be the comic for you."
Yann had this to say about joining the Manga subscription magazine WirePop.com, "I've always wanted to be a part of something like this, I've drawn and created all my life and this way I may even get some money doing what I love, plus I'll improve and get to interact with other comic creators like myself. One of the reasons I like the idea of WirePop so much is because where I live comics are very scarce and quality ones are practically non-existent, so I have to rely on bringing them into the island myself or viewing online comics. I've loved webcomics for a long time now and because they are so convenient and consistent I figured this was the perfect medium to bring quality comics to the masses and in this case get paid for doing so, so life is good. And finally, because I am a creator on WirePop I get to read the great comics on the site without having to subscribe, whoo hoo!!!"
"Friction Burn" will debut on the WirePop.com website when it is launched later this summer, and will be updated weekly. The latest episode of every WirePop webcomic will be free for anyone to read. "This new industry of publishing comics online is affording readers a new way to access quality, professional comics that was never really possible in the print world. The diligent reader can read the WirePop.com webcomics for free if they keep up with the weekly updates," said Panella "but the paying subscriber will gain access to more content, extras and the ever growing archive of WirePop webcomics." WirePop.com subscription prices will be $2.95 a month or $24.95 a year. Paying subscribers will have access to all on-going WirePop.com webcomics and archives plus exclusive subscriber only comics. They will also have access to exclusive content and features such as: Galleries, Downloads, Comic Bookmarks, Creator Journals and more.
WirePop.com is the first online publisher and subscription site of Manga and Manga-styled English comics. WirePop will be publishing 20 exclusive webcomics by independent comic book creators on its' upcoming website WirePop.com. WirePop.com is one of the first genre specific webcomic subscription publishers and will be expanding into printed comics in the near future.
