2004:  Pixeljump.com offered bitpass micropayments for comics on cellphones, Howard Taylor reported on Penguicon 2.0, and Scary Go Round was in the middle of a guest week; and

2005:  Melonpool turned nine years old.

Don't see any mention of it on Melonpool but maybe b/c of the reboot Steve's not noting it anymore.
