Sorry about bombing you
by Lea_Hernandez - 08/28/2006 - 00:25
Sorry about bombing you there, I was crabby, but I didn't mean to bite.
Let's say I didn't like the way Joey's post about my show was edited, and leave it at that.
You will, ultimately, have to please yourself, and ignore conflicting demands, and that absolutely includes mine. If I don't like the way you run things, I just won't look--not even from between my fingers.Â
Cool

Thanks for that answer. I

So what you're saying is it used to look like the poster was saying what you edited in, instead of a big [XEREXES: Another interview to check out is Jim Munroe's talk with Ryan North of Dinosaur Comics.]?
It's still rude, it dilutes posts, and it was irrelevant. Jim Munroe's interview had dick-all to do with mine.Â
Huh...

Well nice of you to ask a neutral question and then launch a little bomb on me when I answered it in good faith up there...
You don't like the way Joey's post got frontpaged ok - I'll undo the whole thing for ya. (Which you could have asked for straightaway instead of asking your other question).
If you're genuinely interested in discussing with me a change in the way the site has been running the last 6 months (really the way it's always been run) in terms of front page posts then please go ahead - I'm just a guy with a website and I try to adjust things to input (sometimes I get lots of conflicting input so it's hard to sort out but...).Â
Could we adopt a policy of user blogs (or user forum posts) never edited upon front page promotion? Sure that's a possibility but it would be a change from current policy. I can see some downsides to it right away but it's not like I couldn't change it if I was convinced it would work better another way.Â

Xerexes, why did you edit in
by Lea_Hernandez - 08/26/2006 - 23:10
Xerexes, why did you edit in a comment? Why not start a new thread or make a new post?
I noticed you did this to Jennie Breeden, too.
Front Page Space Use Basically
by Xaviar Xerexes - 08/26/2006 - 23:26
The short answer: I've added updates and related bits to posts that have been front paged since we started the more liberal user posting system here earlier this year (actually we've always edited user posts - it's just that they used to be unpublished until editors approved them for the site). I guess it's mostly about maximizing the delivery of information on the front page.
