name is maldoror and i started a site for my webcomics a month ago. doing ok, got a few thousand users and people seem to like it.

it is based on a true story about a girl who leads a double life. warning though, if you find big boobs and interracial sex offensive do not check it out lol.

finally some constructive critism! thanks. feel free to share more, espcially about the site and pay stuff etc.

as for the art. well my art is elite. every publisher has said so as well as every member on my site. show me an adult webcomic with better art. or any webcomic.

that being said the art is not what makes me work special. it is the way it faces politics, cultrural and racial issues head on as well as the character dev.

did you read the comic? her real name is never mentioned, she is prob dead anyway.Â

you won't return.. if this is true it is cuz u are an artist, and thus your opinion is marred by things like envy and other artistic drmatic bs, i have the same folks logging on several times a day and get alot of emails about updates. people want my updates. artist influences are worthless really. look at the eatpoo dudes, their shit sucks and no one cares aboput their crap hence they pettyiness and envy had me banned, droe them crazy when people on that site asked me for more of my work and called it genius. lol. by the way my art is like 10x better than yours dude, why are u ragging on the art again? just stick to constructive critism, remember i can see thru all the drama queen bs.

i'm not arguing that my comic doesn't suck. just that yours does. if you're trying to say that i shouldn't judge your art because you think you're better than me, then fine, but by that logic you should also ignore all the people who like your comic, because they're not as good as you either so obviously their taste is flawed.

OK, I just registered to check out your work and see what oolong was talking about. Truth is, you've every right to try to make money with your webcomic in anyway you see fit. I'd be curious to hear if this model works for you.

However, my opinion is that the site is highly frustrating. People register to read the comic, and find that if they want to read it in full and without fugly watermarks all over the place people have to pay. The art is still fairly amateur; I wouldnt pay to read it. Especially if it's Hentai, then I expect the art to be fucking incredible.

My suggestion would be to ditch the required registration for the previews. Those stats are misleading - I just registered, but will not be returning. I recommend that you put whatever warning you want to put on the gateway page, offer a free chapter without those god-aweful watermarks and be clear that your comic is a pay comic. That kind of straight-shooting marketing will more likely yeild more loyal readers.

Also, I'm not really convinced of the whole "true story" angle. If I read correctly, the girl you based this on doesn't know you're doing this. Isn't that libel? Perhaps you'd be better off revising a few things, like names and just say its "inspired" by true events? Seems like potential legal issues there.Â

That said, your art shows potential. And there's certainly a market for what you're doing. I think that if your approach changes you'll get better results.

I encourage you to keep posting here and share your progress in the forum - I'm curious what effects changes (if any) have on your site.Â

man, didn't you learn your lesson when you got laughed out of eatpoo? if you wanna go around telling people 'here's my porn comic, i drew it because i like to, jerk off to it if you want' then that's one thing, but don't delude yourself into thinking that a. it's good enough that people will be willing to pay or even take the time to register for it and b. it gives you any artistic integrity whatsoever. if you're so confident in your abilities then submit it to the guys at AdultWebcomics, they're still looking for submissions. and don't give me that "i have several thousand fans" crap; if your comic was that popular you wouldn't be continuing to spam at so many different forums.
