Rich-Text Settings

Brian Moore's picture

Xerexes -

Sorry to reanimate this dessicated corpse of a thread ...

I discovered that there is a a line in the Account Settings page that says "Tiny MCE Rich Text Settings", where you can set Rich Text Editing to FALSE. It works nicely! Did you just set that up, or did I just miss it before?

If you did add it recently, thank you.

Should be able to edit

Users should be able to edit their own blog posts. Were you not able to do so?Â

Man Vs Machine

I think I'm just having a bad computer day - I've lost this post a few times now, not because of the site but because I keep accidentally hitting the left-thumb button on the mouse that acts as the "Back" button.

All right. I was able to edit the blog post finally; I was just thrown by the Drupal interface. I was writing comments when I thought I was editing the blog post.

The chief culprit, I think, is Rich Text being on by default. It might just be my browser (Opera 9/Win), but whenever I'm entering or editing text in an input field, the text (e.g. my signature) appears as plain text first, and is then re-rendered as Rich Text. So everything sort of jumps around for a few seconds. Then I disable Rich Text, hit the Filtered HTML button, and clean up the code so that the entry displays the way I'd like.

(It would be awesome to have some user prefs somewhere that keep Rich Text off all the time - let me know if I've just missed 'em.)

I did finally notice the "Edit" tab for the blog post - but it seemed to come up on the screen where I was entering comments, rather than being visible all the time when I am logged in. There's also no clear difference between the interface for editing comments and editing blog posts.

Sorry for the mess! I'd delete the two non-comments if I could.

BTW: I think the new Drupal incarnation of the site is an improvement, and I do appreciate how much effort it takes to keep something this sprawling running. I just was struggling with the machine today ...

I don't have that set up - I'll try and find out if that's something easy to do or not.Â
