I keep hearing from people who have been waiting for invitations to host Project Wonderful advertising for months, some of them since February and some of them after repeatedly PM-ing or emailing to Project Wonderful. Most of the reports are from private conversation or online chat, but this on the Webcomicslist forum and this on the Xepher forum are typical examples. Does anyone know what exactly might be going on? Are PMs not arriving, are emails ending up in Ryan's spam box?
Or is something more fundamentally broken? Is the system of submitting an invite request, waiting for the invite and PM-ing if the invite doesn't arrive after a set period simply not a good idea? If I'd written it, invites would be automatic and on a first-come-first served basis, and indeed I had the impression at the time I signed up that that was how it worked.
I know that some people are giving up on PW because of this. I don't think they should, but there's a hurdle that needs to be taken down, and from admittedly anecdotal evidence, it seems to be growing instead.
