R Stevens lays it all out on his website:

April Fool's comic swaps of one type or another are possibly the oldest tradition among web comics! Jeff Rowland of Wigu called me up to swap strips a couple hours before publication... and how the hell am I supposed to reject him! He's been in this game since before there was even a DS.

Other notable swaps today: PVP and Penny-Arcade.
