Not Webcomics

Not a webcomic, but pretty cool.

Thou Fiction Is Pulp'd

Kevin Pease, creator of the webcomic Absurd Notions, pens the start of the next great intertubes meme with these scenes from Pulp Fiction filtered through Will Shakespeare.

UPDATE - and now there is the Pulp Bard wiki devoted to "the reconstruction of William Shakespeare's play A Slurry Tale, which curiously resembles Quentin Tarantino's film Pulp Fiction. There is no way to stop this from happening, so this wiki exists to ensure that it is done well, or as well as it can be."

Premier of film based on webcomic creator

Cartoonist Jesse Reklaw, creator of the online strip Slow Wave, is playing himself as a central character in new film premiering this month. Compound Eye, directed and produced by Yahn Soon for John Balquist Productions, tells the fictional story of how the controversy over one strip affects him and his roommate's lives.

The first screenings of Compound Eye will be on Sunday October 7th and Saturday October 13th at the Mill Valley Film Festival:

Bryan Singer meets with crowd at SDCCI

Bryan Singer meeting with a fan

Friday afternoon at the DC Comics area, Bryan Singer meets with comic con attendees. Singer was surrounded by two security guards and freely spoke to fans answering any questions they had. Many took advantage of the situation by posing with him for photographs.

One fan didn't ask Singer about his last movie venture Superman but instead asked him why he left the directing duties of the third installment of X-Men.

Kevin Smith Script for Superman

A script that never got made: Superman by Kevin "Clerks" Smith.

I read part of it - a lot more use of existing villians/characters than probably most superhero movie adaptions jam into one movie. Some of the early scenes I read were a nice twist on expectations though - like Superman/Kent meeting up with Lois late at the Daily Whatever office.
