By: J Jack Unrau
Department: Reviews
Issue: May 2008 Issue

Immortal by Dean Haspiel

Dean Haspiel's Eisner-nominated story Immortal is a sprawling little tale about Billy Dogma and Jane Legit, their violent love, and what that love has wrought. It's full of  weird energy and very good.

ZOMBIE 2 Christ - looking for guest artists and writers who want to contribute

Zombie 2 Christ I say? Whats that? Well, as you maybe have heard me talk I am working on a very large story arc called, you guessed it. ZOMBIE 2 christ, where zombies invade the y2cl universe.

No I did not steal this idea from Marvel, this is an idea I've had for years. I've even draw up some scenes and shit for it. I've just now decided to sit down and work it all out.

I have a couple of great people helping me out with it too.

Quitting Time celebrates its two-year anniversary

Quitting Time celebrates two years of retail hell this week, wrapping up its DizzyDome ("two moms enter, one mom leaves") plot on Monday with a double-comic and publishing a special extra-long anniversary comic in celebration.

The past year has seen a ton of changes from us -- we moved off comicgenesis and onto our own Comic Press-powered host, gave the site a complete visual overhaul, and doubled our staff with the addition of an editor/letterer (me!).

R.O.M.B.I.E. - Robot with a Zombie Brain

This is a new comic strip that Brad Pascual (Artist) and I (Troy Stith - Writer) will be releasing on a weekly basis. The name basically describes the premise of our main character Rombie and the strips will follow him through his daily life. We debuted last week with two strips and we added a new one yesterday (2/11/08) Monday will be our regular release date now that we've started up. Attached is the newest strip and if you want to check out more follow the weblink in my profile.

Love it, hate it, or just kind of looking at it. Either way let me know what you think.

It had to happen! The Dark Nebula vs The Southern Squadron!

Hot on his return to Earth after his Trial on the planet Caileu, the Dark Nebula finds himself hunted by The Southern Squadron. How could this be when he's only been away for only 3 weeks? What could possibly put The Dark Nebula on the top of The Squadron's hit list with a bullet? The answer will astound you. The clues have been peppered in 'The Trial of the Dark Nebula' but nothing can prepare The Dark Nebula for his homecoming.

Keeping it real, 'Welcome Home', starting this week only at http://www.thedarknebula.com

Step into the Wayrift!

Wayrift Fantasy Manga

Wayrift is a manga-influenced, black & white fantasy webcomic that updates every Monday/Wednesday/Friday. Established nearly six years ago, it now has an archive of 27 chapters and counting. Written and maintained by creative partners, Aywren & Syntyche, Wayrift has seen a friendly and tight-knit group of readers support it through the years.

It's hard to explain exactly what the comic is about since it does so much -- there's action, adventure, high fantasy, sci-fi elements, magic, hints of romance and outright humor. But overall, Wayrift focuses on its characters and the human aspects of even the most unusual of us. With a foundation of deep supporting lore and legends, its become an ongoing story of family, friendship, and self discovery in a fantasy world.
