Comic Soon: The Conny Van Ehlsing Work Blog

The first volume of my webcomic Conny Van Ehlsing: Monster Hunter nears its end. A good time to publish my first book. To get things going, I've started a work blog at http://connythebook.dreadful-gate.de.

The 'Cartoonists of Color' Protest

The Washington Post recently ran a story on a group of syndicated cartoonists who planned a protest for today. They targeted newspaper editors who choose not to syndicate one strip created by or featuring minorities because they're already publishing another strip -- often just one strip that meets that "diversity demand." The cartoonists drew strips with similar plot lines -- all of which involve an older, white character lamenting the appearance of "politically correct" minority-drawn strips on the comics page.

It had to happen! The Dark Nebula vs The Southern Squadron!

Hot on his return to Earth after his Trial on the planet Caileu, the Dark Nebula finds himself hunted by The Southern Squadron. How could this be when he's only been away for only 3 weeks? What could possibly put The Dark Nebula on the top of The Squadron's hit list with a bullet? The answer will astound you. The clues have been peppered in 'The Trial of the Dark Nebula' but nothing can prepare The Dark Nebula for his homecoming.

Keeping it real, 'Welcome Home', starting this week only at http://www.thedarknebula.com

Forever September updates: Lore Book!

Added a new section at the webcomicsnation site for FS.

The lore book is a book of information about the world and people in Forever September. It will be updated constantly, so there will be more content, more often. Two entries have been added so far; info about Stitches, and the Pumpkin Knight. Should be interesting to see what pops into it. I'm not even sure yet of the potential.

Webcomic Shorts moves to a daily updating schedule

webcomicshortsThree months after it began regular updates, the online anthology Webcomic Shorts is moving to a daily schedule. From Monday 28 January it will update every day of the week, including weekends.

Webcomic Shorts collects and publishes short comics by different creators in a variety of styles and genres, adding a new page every day, just like a regular webcomic. The site is edited by me, Willie Hewes, assisted by my army of unpaid molemen. I believe that quality comics don't have to be long, and that short comics are too rare on the web. Webcomic Shorts is about finished stories and instant gratification.

The site gathers a range of material, both exclusives and work published elsewhere on the web or in print. It is always looking for submissions in any genre or style. Visit the site for submission details.
