Finals

Finals: Here, I’ve added the Johnny Saturn trade dress, which includes the logo, issue price, issue number, and our Story Studios logo. I purposely caused the skull to overlap the Johnny Saturn logo, and I did it with a layer mask, cutting away the parts of the logo I wanted hidden. With that, the cover was done!

Hi, Folks!
Sorry I haven’t done any direct blogging in a while—it’s not that I’m avoiding you! Indeed, I’ve missed this.
This Friday is the last episode of Johnny Saturn no. 9! After this, we’ll be moving into the realm of double digit issues! Benita and I have been hard at work on writing issue 10, and I can promise that it delivers. Big action, big reveals, big shockers—its all there! This is not me trying to be a circus announcer, promising things that may or may not be true to bring the crowds in. Issue 10 will deliver the goods!

I’m coming perilously close to finishing Johnny Saturn no. 9. It amazes me how quickly these issues come about. It must be a function of updating three times a week.

Hi, Folks!
Happy Memorial Day! Hope you are enjoying your day, and that the weather is beautiful wherever you are.
Do I get some sort of Iron Man award for never missing updates? Keeping up with three color episodes a week is pretty grueling, but I’m oh so happy to do it. In fact, I really enjoyed creating today’s and Wednesday’s episodes. I listened to the Rolling Stones (Exile of Main Street, Sticky Fingers, etc.) and just really got into it. I always feel there is a connection, on some level, between the song “Midnight Rambler†and the first Johnny Saturn.

Johnny Saturn no. 7 is off to the printers! After a long delay, it is ready to be published. I take full for the delay, because I had to go back and color eleven pages of it.
