Zortic to Return to Webcomics

Mark Mekkes announces that his original webcomic creation will return on October 4th.
Over 8 years ago the comic Zortic appeared on the internet and set the standard for comic parody. Zortic provided a wider range and faster tempo of popular references than any other comic before or since. But after an 8 year run and over 1200 episodes, Zortic wrapped up its current storyline and ended. Although the archives remained available, there hasn’t been a new Zortic update for nearly 3 months.

OVERWHELMED AND AFRAID: Crossover Wars Final Battle Retrospective

In Mindmistress, in the current story arc, it's a retrospective of her part of the Crossover Wars' final battle -- guest starring many webcomics greats, like ZORTIC, CORTLAND, Abui of ROGUES OF CLYWD-RHAN, Scale of CAMEOCOMICS, the Editor and the Evil Overlords United, Wheels of MAGICAL MISFITS, and Steve of LIFE AND DEATH, and more to come...(including one comic that hasn't been involved in the Crossover Wars yet...) But it's also a look about how in these cosmic crossover-thingees, how someone can be overwhelmed.
The Entire Prize on There!

Is anyone familiar with There.com? It's one of those virtual communities where you can interact with people in a 3D environment.
Well residents of There can now purchase a 3D virtual version of the Entire Prize from the comic, Zortic! It's been developed by There designer Sojka and can be purchased in the There auctions.

Entitlement and Derivative Works

I have seen some discussions recently about Eric Von Websnark's suggestion that For Better or For Worse fans appropriate and repurpose the comic. There are some very interesting (and heated) comments going on over at that post, so people should check those out, but I want to talk about entitlement and derivative works.

Fantasy webcomics this month, is it? A large topic.
And we can make it even bigger. I mean, depending on how technical you wanna get, all fiction is fantasy. It's stuff that never happened, at any rate, and that's as basic a definition of fantasy as I can think of.
