Chapter Two of Burt Colt and Scott Reed's weekly web series Champion Of A Lost Universe begins December 18th, with a new episode unveiled online each Monday. In conjunction with the launching of an all-new site design for websbestcomics.com and the start of the next chapter of COALU, the first issue is now on sale in a full color print edition. Issue #1 features a stunning wrap-around cover art and an interview with the legendary Burt Colt.

Reed describes Champion Of A Lost Universe as a "super-hero deconstruction effort, circa 1984. This is a story that gradually becomes very dark and apocalyptic. Fans may be surprised with issue 2, as the simple newsprint coloring is replaced with a larger, richer color palette. This change reflects the growing complexity of the story."

Colt hired Reed in 2004 to 'restore and re-imagine' a mythical 6 issue story arc from long-defunct publisher Voyager Comics. For those unfamiliar with Voyager's mysterious non-history, Burt Colt claims that the United States government funded the publisher with an experimental paper that proved hazardous to public health. Their books literally disintegrated, and a cover-up ensued, in an effort to keep it all secret. According to Colt, this explains how no existing copies of any of Voyager's comics exist today. He attributes comicdoms lack of awareness to a wide-scale government cover-up.

Reed is careful to draw a distinction between Colt's claims and his job. "At the end of the day, I try not to think about the 'what ifs'. I believe Burt is sincere about this. My job is to match that sincerity, breathe new life into the work, to respect what Burt has accomplished and hopefully everyone will recognize our intentions. This is about blurring the line between reality and fantasy, in a way that's never been attempted in comics."

Champion Of A Lost Universe is written and illustrated by Scott Reed (The Last Odyssey, High Strangeness) and published by Web's Best Comics. www.websbestcomics.com
