We had a pretty good thread back in 2003 on what graphic novels we were reading and I thought it'd be cool to do it again. Plus I'm always interested in recommendations.
I've actually been reading the Scholastic versions of Bone to my kids which is a lot of fun. I may have to hold off on some of the later ones as they're still kind of young (or maybe I'll just skip through a few parts). I also picked up a lot of comics at this year's SPX which I'm ready to jump into.
What are you reading?
Re: What Graphic Novels Are You Reading?
I'm a bit new, but couldn't resist.
Doom Patrol: down paradise way (2005) Grant Morrison is a word-wielding madman. A bit like Lewis Carroll.
The Goon: Noir Eric Powell is who I want to be some day. I mean, look at his paints. Really.
Opus: 25 years of his sunday best.
All very good. Very.

No Graphic Novels right now, but I just picked up issue 1 (of 10) of OMEGA the unkown by Jonathan Lethem (Motherless Brooklyn, Fortress of Solitude) and Farel Dalrymple (Pop Gun War), and it looks really promising.

Re: What Graphic Novels Are You Reading?
Right now, reading or rereading:
Peanuts 1964-1965 (Vol.8 from Fantagraphics)
Terry and the Pirates 1934-1936 (Vol.1 from IDW)
Fanta's collection of Krazy Kat dailies the title of which I forget
Sundays with Walt & Skeezix (Sunday Press)
Exit by Nabial Kanin (Caliber, long out of print)
Powr Mastrs by C.F. (Picturebox)
King-Cat 68 by John Porcellino (just out!)
Not comics, but I'm also about 150 pages into the new Charles Shulz biography which is fascinating. The author intersperses Peanuts strips into the text to showcase the way Schulz talked about his own life and experiences in the strip.

Re: What Graphic Novels Are You Reading?
Re-reading Battle Angel Alita, and Battle Angel: Last Order. Just LOOOOOVE Yukito Kishiro's art and story about a disembodied head found on a trash heap.
I don't know if this actually counts as a "graphic novel" but it certainly has the scope of "Dune", "Childhoods End", or Daniel Keys Moran's Tales of the Continuing Time series, which makes it novel-like. Its graphics are not to be denied.
Off Topic here, but I tried to upload a .GIF into my account so that a picture could accompany my posts. I got an error message each time I tried. Is that functionality missing right now or did I screw up?
