White Bread Comics Announces 10th Strip Anniversary
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
White Bread Comics celebrates a significant milestone in it's brief history.
Central, Texas – August 9th, 2006 WhiteBreadComics.com announced today that it has reached it's tenth published strip, a significant
achievement that many webcomics never achieve. "When I first started this thing all those weeks ago, I just didn't know if it was going tolast this long." , said strip creator and webmaster, Mike. "You know, It's just one of those goals that you hope you're going to hit, but you never really know until you're there."
The milestone may seem like small potatoes to fans of web comics with large archives and years of history, but ten is the "magic number" (in general web comics communities) that indicates a strip is ready to promote itself. "Yeah, I read that online in a few places…about how you should complete 10 strips before really promoting your strip, but
I'm such a shameless, self-promoting whore that I couldn't wait that long."
"We've had great results from advertising on StarslipCrisis.com, and I've been pimping the 'voting' on my site in the Buzzcomix Top 100 like a meth addict. My friends are so sick of me demanding they vote for me that most of them aren't speaking to me right now."Still not satisfied with his shameless self-whoring on websites, message boards, and Top 100 voting sites, Mike carefully considered his options for further pimping. "Well, when you look at how the major print comic companies send out press releases everytime a staffmember takes a dump, I thought 'Hey – there's an idea'. Plus, I like writing in the third person. It makes me sound awesome…like The Rock."
With the tenth strip now behind him, Mike looks to the future of WhiteBreadComics.com with the starry-eyed glee of a handicapped child. "You know, I'm just proud to have come this far….he's to ten more!"
Ten more? We can only hope…
