I don’t know about you but whenever I’m at a comics event I wind up with all kinds of cards and other swag with URLs on them.  I also have a mess of an office at home which I’m struggling to clean up right now.  So one of my every-so-often kitchen-sink-and-everything posts – if you’ve read any of these let me know what you think!  Thanks.

• Lore appears to be an actively updating webcomic – no idea when I picked up the card for it.
• I think I bought a couple of copies of Sea Freak at last year’s SPX.
• I have a Herman the Manatee postcard – I wonder who I could send that to!
• Odysseus The Rebel – a webcomic by Steven Grant and Scott Bieser.
• I have definitely checked out the BPM preview by Paul Sizer – great art, pretty interesting story. 
• Summ Publications has a few webcomcs, mostly print though.  News blog here.
• Couldn’t find a website of it but here’s a review of the comic The Common Bond.
• Broken from Hollow Point Studio. Website looks likes it’s broken but here’s a MySpace profile for it.
• I met Jeff Crowther at my first SPX back in ’03 or ’04 I think.  He used to do Sketchbook and he has a few other titles up at his website.
• Artist Byron Winton appears to be in the process of ditching the Urban By Design moniker.
• Thefinebergsite.com URL is kaput but there’s still a profile for it on Friendster.  I had no idea that Friendster still existed!
• You can still find Poorly Drawn Animals at its webcomicsnation site.  Oh wait you can’t – all gone 🙁
• You can see sample pages of two Bromide comics at its website.

Nina Paley’s animated Sita Sings the Blues looks amazing (all I’ve had a chance to see is the trailer though) but who knows when any of us will get to see due to copyright issues with the song compositions (not the performances – they are in the public domain).  Check out more details on Nina’s blog here and watch the interview below to get the whole story.  Actually click here for Ninia’s post on her current effort to get the film out to the public — she still needs to raise about $50,000 dollars to pay off rights holders.

Drupal really missed the boat in not more actively supporting webcomics a few years ago and now Wordpress with the help of the very effective Comicpress theme has taken a huge chunk of that market share.  If you’re starting from scratch Wordpress + Comicpress is a great way to get going.

Wow – well Sister Claire is sure to become notorious this year (if it’s not already)…. a brightly colored, manga-influenced, mostly comedic tale of Sister Claire, a novice nun who becomes pregnant… it gets a might bit more biblical then that actually and probably will offend those of you with no sense of humor about religon, especially Christianity.  Still I saw it linked to on Menage a 3 today and thought it worth recommending folks check out.

I just got caught up on Barry Smth’s Inktank and realized he’s written his autobiographical doppleganger in the strip into his old (early 00’s) comic Angst Technology.  Is this brilliant? lazy? been done before?  I really enjoyed the run and hope it’s an ongoing part of the new Inktank comic but than I was a fan of Angst Technology back in its day and am pretty glad to see its characters back in action.
