Dandy & Company leaps from the Web to the Comic Shop!

Since October of 2001, cartoonist Derrick Fish has been entertaining thousands of readers with the slightly skewed tales of a Dog and his boy. Dandy & Company is a daily online comic strip best described by readers as a blend of the best of “Looney Tunes”, Calvin and Hobbes and “Disney’s Duck Tales”.

Now, on the 3rd anniversary of Dandy’s online introduction, Comic lovers will be able to take all the laughs, adventure and fun wherever they go with the release of Dandy & Company: ANTHROLogy! It’s an all-new, bi-monthly comic book series from creator Derrick Fish, featuring a fresh blend of hilarious, all-new short stories and classic comic strips from the online adventures.

Dandy & Company: ANTHROLogy was originally presented at the 2003 Orlando MegaCon as an exclusive preview but is finally available for distribution through the August issue of Diamond’s Previews catalogue for October release. “The really crazy part about being accepted into Previews, was that I had nothing to do with it.” says creator and artist, Derrick Fish. “Someone out there put one of the preview copies into Diamond’s hands at Wizard World Los Angeles, and they contacted me. It was quite a surprise. Somewhere out there is a real fan who deserves my thanks.”

The first issue of Dandy & Company: ANTHROLogy features a flip cover format with a cover by Fish on one side, and an alternative cover by DECOY artist, Courtney Huddleston. Future issues feature even more covers by comics’ best, including a second issue cover by PVP artist, Scott Kurtz.

A five page preview, including a peek at the first issue cover, inspired by Gil Kane’s classic GIANT SIZED X-MEN #1 cover is available on Fish’s website.

  1. Has anyone else heard of this guy? A friend of mine from Orlando, FL (where this Fish guy is) pointed me in his direction months ago. I thought his line art was really slick, but haven’t had a chance to sit down and read any storylines yet…

  2. I’ve been dealing with Derrick in one form or another for years now (his art has always managed to impress. Especially his super hero sketches). This ANTHROLogy project has been in the works for what seems forever so I hope it pans out for him.
