Sid picks his 5 funniest webcomics (link just slightly b/c of cartoon nudity NSFW): Xkcd; Basic Instructions; Wulffmorgenthaler; Ctrl+Alt+Del; and JOHN AND JOHN.
I've read all of those except for John and John and while I've laughed at all of them I'm not sure any of them would make my list for the 5 funniest webcomics. For me those would be the comics that flat out make me laugh the most and the most consistently. What 5 comics would you pick?

Good call - it would be very hard to leave Wonderella off the list.
But you need 5 b/c Justin doesn't update everyday! :)

This is the only flaw in Wonderella! (And I've tried threatening Justin and his loved ones in pursuit of this. This is my job as an editor.)
In that case, I'd add in, Joe Loves Crappy Movies, Dinosaur Comics, Shortpacked (well, funny most of the time, but it's always good regardless) and Penny Arcade.Tim Demeter

I didn't pick 'em. They came from a blogger named Sid (better than a boy named Sue I suppose...)
Those are interesting picks too - all funny although I would say I like SGR, QC and Atland as much or more for all the non-funny things they deliver as the humor.
SGR in particular is truly deeply funny but not always in a funny-ha-ha way.

Wow, what an excellent way for Sid to drum up some publicity for himself by dragging that good 'ol "webcomic drama" out of the closet.
To me this is a pointless exercise. It's completely subjective. Sid would have as much success writing an article called "The 5 Best Colors of the Rainbow."

I hope this isn't drama - we're talking about the 5 funniest webcomics so if anything it should be comedy...

Re: What Are Your 5 Funniest Webcomics?
In no particular order:
1. Idiot Comics by Robert Sergel
2. Cat and Girl by Dorothy Gramble
3. Perry Bible Fellowship by that guy
4. Death to the Extremist (R.I.P.) by M. Zole
5. Foxy Lollop by Mike LeCroix
Re: What Are Your 5 Funniest Webcomics?
Ctrl-Alt-Del? Oooh, did Ethan put a screwdriver in his eye? Because I'm ready to every time I have to look at another one of those garbage strips. You want real comics?
Horribleville http://www.horribleville.com/
Dr. McNinja (but you already knew that)
F@nb0y$
Hockey Zombie (and Crun's other projects)
The Thinking Ape Blues http://www.thinkingapeblues.com/
Now dem's some comics.
Don't hesitate to procrastinate.

I don't think it's anything remotely like drama-queening to try to celebrate the best.
I dunno about five off the top of my head, but Diesel Sweeties would be on my list. And yeah, Wonderella too.
Re: What Are Your 5 Funniest Webcomics?
I think Captain Excelsior would be on my top 5 list. And I can say that because I don't write it..
