Bon Voyage 2008! Don’t Let the Door Hit You On the Way Out

What a year!  Well while I’m shivering through the flu this New Year’s Eve I hope some of you out there will celebrate the ringing in of 2009 right.  If it’s not obvious already I decided to skip any big year-end lists or articles in 2008; I just didn’t think I could do them justice this year.

I had a few holiday comics I wanted to mention — Dave and Raina did a great one they posted online here that made me smile and I got a paper one from the Jon Morris titled The Miracles of St. Nicholas: The Pious Man’s Daughter and the Butcher’s Boys: A Real Story of the True St. Nick. Thanks Jon!  It puts mincemeat pie in a whole new perspective! ðŸ™‚

I have  a few interviews and short reviews that I know will go up on the site in January.  Other than that I’m not sure what 2009 has in store for the now almost 6 year old Comixtalk beast.  I am officially ending the "magazine" concept though — I don’t have the time (nor really the interest given other things I could be doing) to edit others’ work nor do the kind of recruiting and management that kind of framework for the site requires.  It has been almost all fun though (could skipped some of the drama of course) and I got to meet a lot of cool people in comics I really hope to keep up with no matter what shakes out here.  So in the very short term – some new stuff from me in January and talk posts from all of you (all you have to do is log in and post and it’s live; which explains the sometime auto ad posts I do remove when I find them. Selling comics and comics-type stuff would be fine though).

If you do have ideas for Comixtalk or just want to say hi shoot me an email at xerexes AT gmail DOT com or on twitter (xerexes) .
