Bookslut.com Features Non-Fiction Webcomic, Stripped Books

The February edition of Bookslut, a preeminent web magazine on books and the literary scene, is live, and it includes the third installment of Stripped Books, a semi-regular non-fiction webcomic by Gordon McAlpin.

Each Stripped Books starts with an author appearance in the Chicago area and uses that as the springboard for a multi-page comic strip. This new 14-page installment covers an appearance by Stephen Mitchell at a local Borders, plugging his new version of the Gilgamesh epic.

An archive of the two previous Stripped Books can be found at Gordon McAlpin’s personal website, www.chasesequence.com, in the Illustration section, along with other shorter comics pieces. They are on Persepolis creator Marjane Satrapi and the children’s book team of Jon Scieszka and Lane Smith, respectively.
