I'm not in the "comic book industry" so I have no first hand knowledge of it, but these recent columns by Ronee Garcia Bourgeois at Buzzscope paint an ugly picture of an "old boys" club treating woman really poorly or worse. How is an industry supposed to produce work that appeals to women if it won't treat women creators like equal human beings?

(Oddly enough, Scott McCloud just linked to this Nothing Nice to Say webcomic that captures and criticizes the "boys club" mentality.)
