Combustible Orange announced (after some disappearing newsposts) that a new artist is taking over for the departed Eric Vinyard. Continuing writer Frank Gibson hasn’t announced the name of the new artist to be, but is promising regular updates (something the Orange wasn’t really good at in 2004) and more Super Demolition Christ adventures.
Besides my own enjoyment of the Orange, the other reason for posting this is to raise the very real issues that can be raised by partnerships and other collaborations not working out as hoped. What happens when one partner wants to go on and the other wants to throw in the towel?
If this week’s Megatokyo furor is any example, what happens is that a mutually satisfactory, legal agreement is reached; then, two years later, the partner who continued the project is accused of having stolen it.
