ComicQuery Progress Report

The author of comiQuery, a PHP and MySQL driven webcomic automation tool currently under construction has recently updated his projects blog with two updates regarding the status of the project here and here.

The author finished the setup script for comiQuery which is designed as an alternative to editing configuration files in an attempt to make it more user-friendly for those who aren’t code savvy or don’t wish to learn PHP and MySQL to get their comics online, making more time for art and less time for tinkering with a bunch of files and settings. The only prerequisite for the setup script is to create a database before running the setup script, as some server don’t allow users to issue a command to create a database from PHP for security reasons.

Also, the author is looking for any access to a windows machine to test the setup script and comiQuery once it is finished to make sure that users under Windows servers aren’t left in the dark at release. If you own such a server and would like to further the cause of comiQuery, then contact the author to notify him.
