ConnectiCon July 16-18, 2004 Web Comic Invitation

ConnectiCon 2004 will be held on the University of Hartford campus in West Hartford, CT from July 16th to 18th. Currently slated to appear are: Sluggy Freelance, Ctrl-Alt-Del, RPG World, VG Cats, ScaryGoRound, Dominic Deegan, Diesel Sweeties, Questionable Content, EXE-World, Studio Splurd, Instant Classic, Staccato Comic and Partially Clips.

ConnectiCon is offering an open invitation to all webcomic creators to attend. We have received interest from quite a few other web comics and have yet to confirm with them their attendance at this time. Our goal is to have 30 to 50 web comics in attendance at this year’s ConnectiCon 2004. Read on for more details of what ConnectiCon will provide to attending webcomic cartoonists (all webcomics with minimum 1,000 hits per day audience receive “free membership to ConnectiCon”)

ConnectiCon would like to help web comics and their fans get together in one place to meet each other. To make this work ConnectiCon is offering the following awards to web comic artists and writers based on the average number of unique hits(IP’s) your comic gets each day:

Tier I (1,000+ hits per day): Free Membership to ConnectiCon + signing session(s)

Tier II (5,000+ hits per day): Tier I + Meet & Greet + “Lounge” Access

Tier III (10,000+ hits per day): Tier II + Panelist, Free Artist’s Alley space + travel help (if needed)

Tier IV (20,000+ hits per day): Tier III + “crash space”

Tier V (40,000+ hits per day): Tier IV + Guest of Honor, Round Trip Airfare, 4 nights hotel accommodations, $50 per diem (3 days)

To qualify for these benefits your comic must have maintained the above statistics for a 30-day period prior to May 31, 2004.

  1. Damn! Pity I don’t publish 5 days a week or I could qualify for Tier V. Oh the drawbacks of being a weekly comic.

  2. BEFORE people start flooding them, they haven’t updated their post. It shouldn’t be hits. 😛 They didn’t realize exactly what hits counted. It’s actually pageviews and unique visits and they don’t have that up. They want people who’ll be able to bring at least 50 people just to see them.

  3. Oh, if it’s pageviews I’ve got it more than covered. Unique visits is well over 40,000 to per strip.

  4. They think 1000 uniques per day will bring 50 people to Connecticut? They know that the entire world can view pages, don’t they?

  5. Oh yeah? Link to my page so I can reach 100 visits per day! 🙂
