Ethan Persoff wins SXSW Web Award

Ethan Persoff’s webcomic, A Dog and His Elephant won an SXSW Web Award in the “Weird/Extreme” category. ADAHE is published online by Serializer.

In the “Animation/Cartoon” category, Sixsidia was choosen.

The 2003 SXSW Website Competition positions itself on the frontier of innovation, uncovering the best new online creations in over 20 categories. SXSW, (South by Southwest), is a Austin, Texas Based company specializing in conference and festival events for entertainment and related media industry professionals. Since 1987, SXSW has produced the internationally recognized Music and Media Conference & Festival.

  1. It’s kind of a shame that with all of the categories that SXSW has it didn’t have a webcomic award. SXSW is an extremely cool festival and gets decent coverage – any award for comics (online or not) would be a good thing.

  2. Agreed — on the other hand, to have a webcomic win an award in a category open to all websites (well, okay, all “weird” websites) is quite an achievement for the form in and of itself (and definitely quite an achievement for Ethan).
