Genre City is now on Modern Tales. Birdie’s odd tale of a city of heroes and chicken cops and tough guys is in scattershot opening chapter mode. Lots of interesting threads being started. What will really be important will be how he pulls diseparate elements together and weaves a tale out of it.
I met Birdie at SPXPo – he was a heck of a nice guy and way too modest. So far Genre City is a great debut work with a lot of humor in the writing and a more pulp fiction feel than typical long underwear comic book (that’s an extremely good thing in my book).
