Publisher’s Weekly has a story on Jim Massey, the writer of the Oni Press comic Maintenance (and webcomic creator), which was recently optioned by Warner Bros. for a feature film. PW calls Massey "an encouraging example of the artistic and economic springboard made possible by Web-based comics publishing."
This guy shows once again that one of the simplest and most direct ways to "break into comics" is to make comics (web or otherwise).
