Saturnalia Declines Keenspot Invitation

According to Space Coyote, she declined an invitation to move Saturnalia to Keenspot recently. According to Space Coyote:

Yesterday, I received an invitation from Chris Crosby to join KeenSPOT. Being a part of Keenspot would have given me a HUGE increase in readers, an opportunity to publish Saturnalia and sell merchandise, and even get paid for my work.

I declined.

  1. Well… When I pointed the link to Xerexes, I was merely letting him know about the Spotting of CYS and EOI. Sorry if I didn’t make it clear enough.

  2. No one is talking about how clear it is, we’re talking about how late it is.

  3. SUBMIT NEWS. Please, for the love of your preferred deity use the SUBMIT NEWS link.

Right now Comixpedia relies on submissions of news from the readers for the most part. If things are brought to my attention after the fact it may make me less likely to post it but if it’s of sufficient interest it still may be worth posting. I like to think C/P is a record of the webcomics community – it’s not prefect but its a labor of love – we do our best.

Getting spotted is still a newsworthy event – declining the Spot is also interesting.

  4. Oh caaaaan you feeeeeel the looooooove tonight…

  5. Hey I love everyone Ghastly – even you :O

But not in that alien-tentacle way, ok…

  6. You mean just as a friend? The way Jesus does? Life your love of a good book and a fine wine? Quantify your love for me, damnit! I can’t live this way!

  7. heh, This reads like one of those “BUSH KNEW” calendar of events. 😉

  8. I’m having a great deal of trouble believing that Keenspotters are all arrogant dipshits. It flummoxes me, I tells yah!

  9. Who’s asking you to believe it? As far as I can see, no one has said that.

  10. Some of us are dipshits but humble about it.

  11. For those of us not steeped in All Things Keen, this news was of some interest, even though it may have been “done to death” among those to whom it matters most (the Keenspot community).

It’s appropriate for a general news source like Comixpedia to bring these kinds of things to the attention of those outside the tight community where the news actually happened — even well after the fact.

    I think.

That said, it’s not earth-shattering or anything.

Artists turn down invitations from publishers (and record companies, and movie studios) all the time, for bunches and bunches and bunches of reasons. Doesn’t mean the artist is evil. Doesn’t mean the publisher is evil.

  12. I am totally an arrogant dipshit. No. Really.
