Charles Schneeflock Snow, creator of Sordid City Blues has announced he's taking a break until January 2007 and leaving open the question of whether he'll return to updating SCB.
Burn-out is real and not uncommon for projects that don't pay any bills and don't attract huge audiences. In the case of SCB, it's truly been one of my favorites forever now as Snow has managed to create a very realistic world, show different types of relationships in it with care and detail and yet still deliver authentic emotion every episode and most often with a side order of teh funny. Snow deserves a big audience for his work, but SCB is exactly the type of nuanced, non-genre-specific work that is difficult to get out there in any medium.
So I selfishly hope Snow comes back ready to at the very least bring SCB to some kind of closure but no matter what I hope he sticks with telling stories somehow .
