Self described as the "Greatest Live Art Competition in the Known Universe", Baltimore's own SUPER ART FIGHT returns to The Ottobar on Friday, January 21st, 2010 for the latest in their absolutely amazing live events – SUPER ART FIGHT 9! Super Art Fight 9 combines a full card of four bouts with two stunning musical acts. Appearing live on the Ottobar stage that evening as musical guests are the japanese action comic punk trio PEELANDER-Z, and the video game music stylings of local favorites RARE CANDY.
Presented on the canvas that evening will be the following bouts:
Main Event! SUPER ART FIGHT Championship Bout!
Jamie "Brawlin'" Baldwin defends against Michael "Spaghetti Kiss" Bracco
A match one year in the making, Jamie Baldwin won the Super Art Fight Championship back on January 23, 2010 at Super Art Fight 6, defeating Michael Bracco, and now Bracco has fought his way back up the ladder to reclaim his championship. Will Bracco return to the top, or will Baldwin have his number one more time?
#1 Contender's Bout – Winner Gets A Championship Bout at SAFX
Bryan "Silent But Violent" Prindiville battles Josh Taylor
For both these men, Super Art Fight 8 was a very important evening. Prindiville scored his first key victory and Josh Taylor made his debut, grabbing the audience's eye with his unique, curmudgeonly style. At Super Art Fight 9, however, history can be made, as both Prindiville and Taylor have the opportunity to take on the champion. Who's hand will be raised? Find out at Super Art Fight 9!
Tag Team Grudge Match!
Nick "Ghostfreehood" Borkowicz and Kelsey Wailes battle Chelsea "Grose Misconduct" Grose and Jami "Angry Zen Master" Noguchi
Starting with Super Art Fight 9, we intend to feature a unique tag match as a part of every show. This match in particular has high stakes, as months of fan requests have put the Charm City Roller Girls own Chelsea Grose at odds with SAF Co-Founder Nick Borkowicz. We gave each opponent the opportunity to choose their own partner, and with the talent involved, this stands to be one of the most memorable bouts of the night.
Rookie Battle!
Caldwell Tanner battles Brandon J. Carr
Scouted during Super Art Fight's fall tour, both talents are new to the canvas, but come highly recommended. Tanner is best known as the talented comic artist for College Humor, and Carr also has strong cartoon-fu. Each artist wants to make an impact, and it will be felt at Super Art Fight 9.
In addition, all bouts will have live commentary from Ross Nover and Marty Day, plus DJing from DJ Sheephead. Tickets are just $12, available now at MissionTix.com, and doors will open at 9pm, with the show starting at 9:30pm. The Ottobar is at 2549 North Howard Street in Baltimore, Maryland 21218.
