WirePop announces the addition of Dans L’Metro

WirePop — www.wirepop.com — announced today the new webcomic “Dans L’Metro,” by Hwei Lim, will be joining the webcomic line-up on WirePop.com, the growing Manga and Manga-styled webcomic subscription magazine.

“When you look at Hwei Lim’s comics you are hard-pressed to decide if it’s fine art or a form of entertainment.” said George Panella, WirePops’ Publisher “Her comics have a really unique artful and flowing style that is like no other. When she sent in her submission for Dans L’Metro we made sure we got her onto WirePop. Besides her captivating painted art-style her stories are deep and very thought-out. When you look at the cover image for Dans L’Metro you get a sense of play and eeriness as the character floats there in midair.”

Lim, talked about “Dans L’Metro” saying, “It is, on the surface, about commuter trains, ghosts, and not trusting the other guy. A bit further in, it’s about how you think what you see is real, and the ‘what if’ – what if other people don’t see it, is it still real? Art-wise, it’s influenced by certain French comic colorists, the beautiful city of Paris, a little bit of Chinese mythology, and a HUGE list of Japanese, Chinese and Korean artists.”

Lim had this to say about joining the Manga subscription magazine WirePop.com, “It’s cool to know that you’re drawing a manga-style story for people who want to see manga-style stories. I like the kind of stories I read in mangas, so it’s great that there’s now a website where you can read all these stories. It’s a chance for me to tell a good story, without trying to replicate Japanese manga too hard, and hopefully you enjoy reading it as much as I did drawing it.”

“Dans L’Metro” will debut on the WirePop.com website when it is launched later this summer, and will be updated weekly. The latest episode of every WirePop webcomic will be free for anyone to read. “This new industry of publishing comics online is affording readers a new way to access
quality, professional comics that was never really possible in the print world. The diligent reader can read the WirePop.com webcomics for free if they keep up with the weekly updates,” said Panella “but the paying subscriber will gain access to more content, extras and the ever growing
archive of WirePop webcomics.” WirePop.com subscription prices will be $2.95 a month or
$24.95 a year. Paying subscribers will have access to all on-going WirePop.com webcomics and archives plus exclusive subscriber only comics. They will also have access to exclusive content and features such as: Galleries, Downloads, Comic Bookmarks, Creator Journals and more.
