There will be a Tokyopop panel discussion at the Fresh Meat miniature comic convention held at the School of Visual Arts in New York. Participating in the panel are a number of SVA graduates with Tokyopop contracts, including Amy Kim Ganter, as well as their editor. The topic of the discussion is comics in general and their experience with Tokyopop in particular.

Since last we commented on the Daily Grind Iron Man Challenge, two more comics have joined the growing rank of losers. Scott Williams failed on April 5 and Jeff Skinner on April 15. This brings the toll to five losers and 51 creators still in the race.

Yesterday, Phil and Kaja Foglio’s Girl Genius debuted online. The comic was previously published in print as a periodical and graphic novel from 2000. The current plan appears to be to serialize it on the web as well as collect it in graphic novel form. Continue Reading
