The Lost Tribe: BattleStar Galatica
Does anyone remember the Battlestar Galatica part of the tram ride at Universal Studios? That was cool…
Anyhow along with everything else from our childhoods, Battlestar Galatica is being revived. Continue Reading
Not a webcomic, but pretty cool

Ninth Art has a good interview with Peter Bagge, former indy-comic demi-god. Lately Bagge seems to have spent a lot of time trying to get his comic creations made into animated series. With his self-professed short attention span and the continued maturation of a webcomics “industry” someone ought to pitch him a project for a webcomic.
I’d read it anyhow. Continue Reading
Sometimes BoxJam reminds me of James Thurber, an early to mid 20th century American author who created the Walter Mitty character. He was also a bit of a cartoonist, whose work often appeared in the New Yorker.
A NY Times review of the recent publication of a collection of his letters (NY Times requires registration but it’s free) is interesting not so much as a review but as a discussion of what part, if any, of Thurber’s work will be remembered by future generations. In other words, was he a writer or a cartoonist? Continue Reading
Eventually every comic will be made into a movie. Still American Splendor is one comic book I was initially surprised to see as the basis for a movie given Hollywood’s obsession with the long-underwear crowd. Moviepoopshoot has an interview with Mr. Pekar. Continue Reading

You’ve probably already seen this but it’s a short Batman “film” which has a cool Joker in it (although it just gets silly at the end). Continue Reading
By coincidence I just finished reading the Michael Chabon novel Kavalier & Clay, an amazing novel chronicling the lives of two early comic book creators: writer Sam Clay and artist Josef Kavalier. (Quickie Review: The first half of the novel is sensational, the second half almost as good).
Pulse reports that Dark Horse will begin publishing the Adventures of the Escapist with author Michael Chabon writing some of the stories.
In addition, Michael Chabon will pen the script for the movie adaptation of his novel “The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier and Clay” for Paramount Pictures. Continue Reading
