The Epilogue: Smart Literature Webcomic Humor

Only a couple of episodes in the archives so far but for a literary geek like myself, The Epilogue by Reva Sharp is a clever idea filled with boundless possibilities. Taking place in the afterlife, the comic is filled with characters based on famous writers like Mark Twain, e.e. cummings, Slyvia Plath, etc.

The art is a bit… rough at this point and not every strip has delivered actual funny, but I’m just so taken with the concept that I can overlook that for now. Be sure to check it out. Continue Reading

Idiot Farm Reaches Episode #100

Idiot Farm has reached its 100th comic. Idiot Farm is drawn and authored by Jeremy Wagner and Justin Van Dyke (Van Dyke is on an extended break while in Ireland and won’t be back to work on the comic until February 2005).

Idiot Farm features extremely quirky and comically cynical characters. Started in July of 2003, the comic has regularly updated for over a year. You can also keep up with the Farm at the comic’s LiveJournal feed. Continue Reading

Spamusement Hits Comic #100

Spamusement has reached comic #100. If you haven’t seen the comic, it take subject lines from the headers of spam email, and as the creator puts it “[I] let their creative brilliance fuel my artistic vision, where ‘artistic vision’ is defined here as ‘crude line drawings.'”

This is a funny webcomic folks and although in some ways it feels a bit like Exploding Dog, the absurd nature of spam subject lines veers the material here in a funnier direction than the broader emotional palette of Sam Brown.
