Fitzpatrick has been drawing Neil Jam in one form or another for years, and after having recently developed a cult following in independent comic books, he is very excited about showcasing this new daily comic strip on the web. Dave Bort’s Journal Comic

A relatively recent journal comic is by Dave Bort who keeps a (roughly) daily journal and posts online. At the beginning his strips are very slice of life, even less polished than Drew Weing or James Kochalka would ever be and often so inert as to evoke Jim’s Journal. Very compelling but much less revealing than say, Keaner.net.

New WebComic, Dane and Joe, from Creator of Juniper Crescent

Steve Ince, (creator of Juniper Crescent) has begun a new spin-off strip called Dane and Joe that while touching on computers and video gaming will follow the lives of these two twenty-somethings through typical shenigans and whatnot.

Steve Ince’s other strips, Juniper Crescent and Sapphire Claw will continue to update. Juniper Crescent has hit 100 strips in its first year and a half of publication. The Sapphire Claw has been appearing for about a year. Continue Reading

Comic strip mirrors Caltech life

There’s a story in the Pasadena Star News on Crippling Depression, a comic strip about life at Caltech.

Published in Caltech’s student newspaper for nearly two years, the strip chronicles the highs and lows of life at the notoriously challenging school.

“It’s supposed to be entirely fictional, but no one ever believes us, Wan said.”

“There was a time when everyone assumed that whatever was happening in the comic was what was happening in our lives, like Tim’s and Mike’s parents,” Lee said, laughing. Continue Reading
