The clock begins ticking in earnest as Noah finds himself swept into military life along with his new friends (and one unexpected complication), Cyberna gets some strange “dreams” and their fellow Neoatlanteans struggle for survival in the bowels of the bunkers or in captivity. The pace picks up as the first significant rumbles of war make it to the consciousness of post-burn America, sabers are being drawn and battle plans begin to coalesce. The fuse was lit months before; now the first distant explosions rock the earth. They certainly won’t be the last.
