Webcomic Finds: 14th Leg: Deathworld

Ping Teo reviews Deathworld by Rudi Gunther. I thought this was a really lively review and despite being decidedly mixed is probably the strongest endorsement of Rudi’s comic I’ve seen. The review nails the common problem with webcomics as first draft – they often have large strectches of good and bad in them.

The answer to strips like this is probably for the authors to step back, be honest with themselves and ditch and/or rework the parts that don’t measure up the best parts of the series. A lot of strips don’t do this and lose readers who can’t slog through the rough beginings to get to where the author finally figures out what they’re doing.
