The German comics site Comcgate has an english-language interview with Scott McCloud that covers Understanding Comics to Making Comics to several points in between. Long but very interesting review of McCloud’s comics on comics.
Here’s a pretty intense discussion of recent changes in the WCCAs at Eric Millikin’s livejournal with Meaghan (Ocarina) who is actually married to current WCCA chairman Frank Damonk. Forewarned – lots of "drama" in there but I link to it mainly because I’ve seen almost zero discussion of the big change to the WCCA this year — no genre categories.
I’ll try not to mention this everyday for the next month, but damn!, it’ll be 5 years of ComixTalk (i.e., Comixpedia Classic) this February. That is a long time and a lot of people who had a hand in writing for this site. It’s also been a lot of web-wrangling for me, but with great power comes great yadda yadda yadda…

The Executive Committees of the Harvey Awards and the Baltimore Comic-Con are proud to present the official Nomination Ballot for this year’s Harvey Awards . Named in honor of the late Harvey Kurtzman, one of the industry’s most innovative talents, the Harvey Awards recognize outstanding work in comics and sequential art. Ballots are due for submission by March 21st.
Chris Meadows will be interviewing prolific comic creators Phil and Kaja Foglio on his live talk show podcast The Biblio File. The interview will be recorded live, and will take place on Sunday, January 27th at 10 p.m. Universal/4 p.m. Eastern/1 p.m. Pacific time.
