The 24 Hour Comic Day blog has announced the names of 24 comic artists who will appear in the 2005 book.
Matthew Shepherd has teamed up with Roy Boney, Jr. to deliver the comic book mini-series Dead Eyes Open. Boney is the creator of the webcomic, Plugin Boy and Shepherd is the writer for the webcomic Man Man. Dead Eyes Open is a six-issue mini-series from SLG Publishing, debuting in July 2005. Newsarama has an interview with Kazu Kibuishi regarding the Flight anthology’s move from Image to Ballantine. Ballantine is a part of book publisher Random House.

bagochips’s new anthology comic book, Disposable Parts has been released to preorders, and will be premiering at MoCCa Art Festival next weekend, on June 11th.

Coming this summer — Squid and Ink — a new comic anthology featuring scads of webcomic artists, including Comixpedia contributor, Welton Colbert (aka Ryan Estrada). The new bi-monthly publication will have some of the best comics from local and web comic authors, as well as industry articles, interviews, and guides.

The creators of five notable webcomics: Sluggy Freelance, Star Cross’d Destiny, Fragile Gravity, PartiallyClips, and Order of the Stick, have formed a booth-sharing group called Webcomics Vault for San Diego Comic Con 2005. In addition to their own merchandise, Webcomics Vault plans to act as a retail bookseller for other webcomics creators who can’t attend.
UPDATE: Webcomics Vault was not able to obtain SDCC booth space this year afterall (SDCC just informed them today) so it will not happen this year. Maybe in 2006! Continue Reading
