Publishers’ Weekly Heap Praise on a Web-born Comic

Small Stories Online creator and serializer.net contributor Derek Kirk Kim’s Same Difference and Other Stories was recently chosen by Publisher’s Weekly as one of the best books of 2003, in their Comics category.

Killroy and Tina’s 2nd Anniversary Charity Auction!

In November of 2001, Killroy and Tina made its online debut with little fanfare, acclaim, or talent. In a time when the word “hiatus”
was a webcomic’s silent death, Killroy and Tina (KnT for short) kept plugging away for whatever reason. Two life-sucking years and
almost 200 full-color pages later, KnT has spun off Keenspace not only to its own domain, but also to the Modern Tales sister site Graphic Smash, various Modern Tales syndications, and possibly a few unauthorized Comic Reaper thefts. The Brief Untimely End of Prophecy Magazine?

Prophecy Magazine announced itself as “dedicated exclusively to comic content from independent and alternative artists.”

Recently Journalista! pointed to a recent announcement from Prophecy Magazine to its contributors on the TCJ Messageboards. In a nutshell: lack of funding means no publication, magazine won’t honor contracts with contributors and hey, why don’t we split the profits on an anthology of the work produced for the magazine.
