This is probably old news to some, but I had missed that Danielle Corsetto had set up a MySpace page for her Girls With Slingshots characters, Hazel and Jamie.
It’s not clear that everyone interacting with it knows that these are fictional characters… On the other hand it sounds like it’s been a successful promotional gimmick. Corsetto wrote:
Hazel and Jamie’s MySpace page has received massive attention! They had more “friends” in two days than I’d gotten in a few weeks! They already have their own personal “creepy stalker,” they’ve been granted “friendship vibrators” (thank you, Sam!), and Jamie’s been tickled pink over all the compliments she and her *ahem* melons have received.

Welcome to Week Two of Comixpedia’s November 2005 Issue!
We will be spending the month looking at MYSTERY WEBCOMICS!
Our week two feature by Kelly J. Cooper is list of mystery webcomics.
Eric Burns vents a bit over mystery webcomics in this month’s Feeding Snarky.
Kristofer Straub presents Modern Humor Authority and their take on mysteries…
Welton Colbert takes on the guys over at Digital Strips.
And we have Al Schroeder’s interview with Richard Stevens of Peb Casey, Butterfly Detective.
Detective, suspense, parlor game, crime, noir, police procedural… these are all different ways to slice the mystery genre. But how to organize the Mystery WEBCOMICS? Alphabetically by title? By author? By sub-genre? Or perhaps semi-randomly, as the whim takes me? Yep. That’ll do. Continue Reading
The theme this month is mystery webcomics. And for the first time since I took this gig…
…well, I have no freaking clue what to write. It’s like they said "this month, the theme is finbotz comics," and I’d smile and nod and sit down in front of the word processor. Continue Reading
