To enter Fright Night 6 take Jon Morris’ starter panel and expand it into a creepy comic all your own. Load the finished comic to your own server and send us the URL up to Sunday, October 24th at Midnight. BWHAHAHAHAHAAAA!!!!

Two entrants will win somethng concrete – one picked by Jon will win the original art for the panel and one picked by Comixpedia readers will win some promotional time on Comixpedia throughout November. But all entrants will be winners in the hearts of Comixpedians everywhere!

Fright Night No. 6 is underway and if you haven’t signed up yet now is the time for all webcomickers interested in some Halloween fun to SIGN UP!

Participants will get plenty of attention on Comixpedia and two folks will win: one lucky participant will win win the original art for this year’s starter panel by the infamous Jon Morris and a second lucky participant will be chosen by the fine readers at Comixpedia, and receive free banner impressions for the month of November!

The Webcomics List 2004 Awards

The Webcomic List has announced its first-ever webcomic awards program for 2004. There is no preliminary nomination process; all comics listed on the site before September 20, 2004 are eligible. There are five categories open for voting: Best Overall Comic, Best Use of Humour, Best Drawing Style, Best Website, and Best Concept For a Comic. 2004 WCCA Winners Announced

The 2004 Web Cartoonist’s Choice Awards were announced July 25th. Big congratulations are in order for newcomer Adrian Ramos who picked up 6 awards for Count Your Sheep. Penny Arcade remains a favorite with 5 more awards to put on their mantle, including Outstanding Website Design. Both these titles share the coveted Outstanding Comic award this year.

WCCA 2004 Finalists Posted

The finalists for the 2004 Web Cartoonists’ Choice Awards have been posted. With this milestone, the polls are now open for all registered web cartoonists (registration information can be found here) to determine this year’s winners. The fight for Outstanding Newcomer looks very interesting with Count Your Sheep, Questionable Content, Skirting Danger, and Sore Thumbs all vying for the title.

BuzzAwards Are Back

BuzzComix has announced the return of the buzzAwards.

The buzzAwards honor comics who have exhibited exceptional quality in a number of categories. In an attempt to expose those “diamonds in the rough,” buzzAwards strives to honors smaller comics (10,000 average uniques/day or fewer). The nominees will be picked by committee–not voted on by the general public (buzzAwards is accepting applications for judges on the committee. There is an application form on the site). This means that a comic with very little exposure and fan base could finally get the attention it deserves.

Submissions for nominations may be made until June 15th, and nominees selected by the committee will be announced July 5th. Continue Reading
